This one goes out to all my long-haired people; you know what you are dealing with. We have seen long hair completely stop the brush roll from operating, which can ruin the motor. There are some minor maintenance issues to check into. If it is not sucking, it is most likely clogged. Check all hoses and compartments. If the brush has stopped turning, it might be tangled up from hair or threads. Or it could be just a setting. Some have 2 settings, and if it is on a bare floor setting, the brush might not spin. Another common issue is the belt. Their normal lives last six months to a year. Replacing it should be easy, depending on the vacuum. If the problem seems too complex for an easy fix, it is time to take it in the shop.
